GREATER YELLOWSTONE COALITION
Established in 1983 to protect America’s first national park and the 18-million acre ecosystem that Yellowstone anchors. GYC was instrumental in protecting Yellowstone’s streams and rivers from acid runoff when it spearheaded a buyout of the New World gold mine. More recently, the group won funding for public purchase of a critical wildlife corridor at Yellowstone’s northern doorstep and of 50,000 acres across four mountain ranges in the Northern Rockies. GYC has played a key role in wolf reintroduction efforts and bison issues. 406-586-1593 gyc@greateryellowstone.org
